Established in 1927, Shanghai Yi Ming Tannery is specialized in producing cow shoe upper leather, pig vegetable sole leather, various synthetic shoe leathers and synthetic polishing material. By the end of 1996 the value it's original fixed assets was 63.5 million RMB Yuan. It occupies a site of 30.3 thousand square meters and has about 720 workers and staff members. It's annual output are 700 thousand square meters of shoe uppers, 1000 tons of pig vegetable sole leather and 300 thousand square meters of synthetic shoe leathers and polishing materials. It is a key enterprise in the leather trade throughout China. In order to improve the quality of our shoe upper leathers we began to adopt the technologies of accelerated soaking, oxidative unhairing, spray coating and some other advanced processes in the early '60s. In 1976 we used "Lion Brand" as our trade mark. In the early '70s we began to develop synthetic leathers which use synthetic fiber and synthetic resin as it's main materials and put synthetic insole,and stiffener into production.

        In the '80s we had put into production the single and double layer polishing materials which are used in processing large scale integrated circuit. Now, we produce some 20 kinds of three categories of various products of various shoe upper leathers, pig vegetable sole leathers, synthetic leathers and polishing materials, Our products have for several times won the prize of Light Industry, Shanghai Municipality and Shanghai Second light Industry Bureau.

        With our country's implementation of the open door policy and reform, we have greatly improved our way of enterprise management. Our profit, output value, and product quality have been ranking among the tops in the trade.
